Matt McLaughlin, EVP Global Field Operations
Matt joined Abiquo in October 2011. Prior to Abiquo, he served as executive vice president of worldwide field operations for StrongMail, leading their sales efforts to grow the company’s revenue over 55% a year over 4 consecutive years. Additionally, Matt served in a number of executive sales positions at BEA Systems, including vice president of global accounts. During his seven-year tenure, he managed and grew the sales and marketing efforts of BEA’s largest and most strategic customers. Matt was responsible for setting several sales milestones, including 144% year-over-year license revenue growth. Additionally, as BEA’s vice president of Asia Pacific, Matt transformed the region into BEA’s most profitable with growth in excess of 300%. He has also held various executive and sales roles at Azul Systems, BackWeb Technologies, and Insignia Solutions. Matt holds a BS in economics and finance from Lock Haven University.
Steve Rushen, Senior Director, Support and Services
Steve Rushen joined Abiquo in November 2010 to help grow the Company’s European business. Prior to Abiquo he served as a Senior Principal Consultant in CA Technologies Security Business Unit providing Sales enablement across Europe and in strategic global accounts. Previously Steve spent 7 years at Orchestria (acquired by CA inc.), originally in Pre Sales, and later Managing Professional Services in Europe. Steve has also held Technical Support and Consultancy positions with several companies including Symantec, Axent Technologies and Admiral Management Services. Prior to a career in IT, Steve spent 12 years in the Royal Corps of Signal, serving in Bosnia, Germany, Cyprus and Northern Ireland.
Xavier Fernandez, Co-founder and VP Engineering
Xavi co-founded Abiquo in March 2006. Previously, he worked as a project manager, senior developer and Java developer for Everis Consulting Group. At Everis, he led teams that developed applications for large companies such as PepsiCo and Gas Natural. Xavi’s work focused on developing XML, HTML, J2EE, Weblogic, Oracle and SQL-based applications for these large companies. Before his work with Everis, Xavier built a wireless network for an entire town in Spain. He holds an ITIL certification from Hewlett-Packard, as well as an IGNITE certification from the University of Cambridge, among other certifications. Xavi holds a B.A. in electrical engineering and an MBA in industrial management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain.
Helena Torras, VP Operations
Helena joined Abiquo in 2007. Between 2008 and 2009, she assumed the role of interim CEO during a critical time of corporate development. Prior to Abiquo, Helena was General Manager of SARDomus, a public health services division of a Spanish hospital group. She also has extensive experience as a strategic consultant with the management consultancy firm PR&G Group. Helena holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. in business administration and management from Ramon Llull University ESADE (Barcelona, Spain) and an M.B.A. in international management from McGill University, in Montreal, Canada.
