Abiquo Ranks Highest Pure Play Vendor in Independent Analyst Firm’s Private Cloud Market Report
Report is First to Quantitatively Evaluate Vendors for Buyer Decision-Making Factors
Redwood City, Calif. – May 18, 2011 – Abiquo, the leading Enterprise Cloud Management software company, announced today its very strong placement in the just-released report by Forrester Research entitled, “Market Overview: Private Cloud Solutions Q2 2011” written by James Staten and Lauren E. Nelson. Abiquo views the report as significant as it provides the first independent quantitative assessment of private cloud vendors across the market. The report clearly shows how the vendors stack up, that not all cloud management solutions are created equally, and which vendors you should evaluate when building a private cloud.

Forrester invited vendors that had production ready solutions, and could provide solid, enterprise customer references using the solution in a private cloud inside their enterprise, to participate. The report notes that only 15 of the many vendors who applied were able to do so, the rest were eliminated.
Each vendor was required to provide a 30-minute demonstration, 20 minutes of which followed a fixed script of essential functions, with the remaining 10 minutes available to show additional features of the vendors’ choice, thereby ensuring a valid “apples-to-apples” comparison.
Abiquo’s demonstration clearly showed its ability to manage a globally deployed computing infrastructure, comprising unlimited compute, storage and networking resources through a “single pane of glass”, and its ability to provide true self-service provisioning of all those resources.
