Abiquo Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Abiquo Europe Ltd (“we”) processes your personal data. Please read it carefully, as it specifies which rights you have and how you can exercise your rights.

Our service

We provide software that lets you deploy and control Virtual Machine instances on hypervisors (“private clouds”), Docker hosts and public cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. The software can be installed on your own hardware, in virtual machines on your own premises, or in a public cloud. You may obtain the software direct from Abiquo or through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, Functionality is enabled in the software through the purchase of licenses from Abiquo.

What we store about you

We store all information provided to us as part of your enquiry on the Abiquo web site, the purchasing process and by the acquisition process on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This will include, in particular, the following personal data about you (to the extent effectively provided to us): the content of your message to us, your name or nickname, company name, phone number (if provided), IP address, user ID, OpenID, e-mail address, Twitter, LinkedIn or other social media account, and the date, time and nature of any activity you perform through the Azure Marketplace process. As part of our support processes we may ask you for copies of the database and log files from your Abiquo server for the purposes of resolving any technical issues.

How long we store this data

Your data is stored in our accounts, support and marketing databases during the time you use the software, and for up to 5 years following the termination of any trial or commercial relationship. Should legislation require us to retain any information for a longer period this would take precedence.

How we use your personal data

We use your personal data to set up a unique user account, to contact you directly for support and marketing purposes, and to provide user interface components to allow you to interact with social media. While we sometimes provide statistical information (trends, numbers, etc.) generated from our databases to third parties, please rest assured that you cannot be identified on the basis of this statistical information. Note that we hate spam as much as you do. So, we will never provide your email address to third parties, and we will never send any spam ourselves to you. Also note that we can provide access to your personal data in case of illegal or abusive use, or in case we receive orders from a competent legal authority.

How we protect you

We are bound by the strict rules of European data protection legislation, which prevents us from making unlawful use of your personal data. Please note that any public cloud platform operator in which you deploy Abiquo or in which you create virtual machines using Abiquo may be bound by other rules, depending on his jurisdiction.

Your rights

You have the right to gain access to, correct and/or remove all personal data we store about you on our servers. All this is provided to you free of charge. In order to exercise your rights, please contact us.


From time to time, we change our products and services which may require us to update our privacy policy accordingly. Your continued use of the website using our service following the posting of any changes to this privacy policy means you accept such changes. This policy was last updated on 8th June 2015.
