Xavier Fernandez – Co-founder and CEO
Xavi co-founded Abiquo in March 2006. Previously, he worked as a project manager, senior developer and Java developer for Everis Consulting Group. At Everis, he led teams that developed applications for large companies such as PepsiCo and Gas Natural.
Xavi’s work focused on developing XML, HTML, J2EE, Weblogic, Oracle and SQL-based applications for these large companies. Before his work with Everis, Xavier built a wireless network for an entire town in Spain. He holds an ITIL certification from Hewlett-Packard, as well as an IGNITE certification from the University of Cambridge, among other certifications. Xavi holds a B.A. in electrical engineering and an MBA in industrial management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain..
Carles Ferrer – General Partner, Nauta Capital
Carles leads the Enterprise Software/Security investment vertical for Nauta. Nauta Capital is a Venture Capital firm specialized in early stage B2B Software companies. Nauta has $300 million under management and invests in Western Europe and the USA. Nauta is mainly a Series A investor with 1-3M average first ticket investments. Nauta has offices in London, Boston and Barcelona.
Ian Finlay – Group Advisor
Ian Finlay is Abiquo’s Group Advisor, leading the company to deliver value to customers and shareholders. Ian brings unique insight to Abiquo having implemented the software whilst at Claranet, where he held the role of Chief Information Officer, Claranet Group – Western Europe’s largest independent managed services provider. Prior to joining Claranet, Ian was CTO of ControlCircle, leading a team of 50 to design, develop, deliver and support a range of networking and managed hosting services and maintaining data centre facilities across Europe and in Singapore. Before that, he held the position of Vice President of IT and Business Systems at Interoute Communications, where he led a worldwide organisation of more than 60 staff to drive business agility, productivity and customer service through innovative technology solutions focused on business priorities.
